Endicott vs. Southern Maine

The Game Story:
BEVERLY, Mass. -- The Endicott College Power Gulls got goals from nine different players to overpower the University of Southern Maine Huskies 18-6 in a non-conference men's lacrosse game Saturday. The win snapped Endicott's four-game losing streak and improved the Power Gulls to 1-4. Southern Maine suffered its second loss of the season against four wins.

Endicott scored the first four goals of the game in a three-and-a-half minute span midway through the first period and never looked back. Southern Maine's lone goal of the period was scored by junior Sean Murphy (Augusta, Maine).

Freshman Burt Fahy (Needham, Mass.), who led all scorers with four goals in the game, scored twice in the second period as the Power Gulls expanded their lead to 10-2 by halftime. Sophomores Paul Lord (Derry, N.H.) and Cory Fox (Weymouth, Mass.) each found the net three times for Endicott, and freshman Sam Chidester (Eliot, Maine) and sophomore Andre Digou (Salem, Mass.) scored twice. Freshman Clay Austin (Wilton, Conn.) passed out four assists.

For the Huskies, freshman Kurt Gagnon (Hollis, Maine) finished with two goals while sophomores Nick Rich (Yarmouth, Maine) and Jon McCabe (Farmington, Maine) each had a goal and two assists. Freshman Mark Butler (Barnstable, Mass.) has the Huskies other goal. Rookie goalie Frank Leclair (York, Maine) was credited with five saves for Southern Maine. Junior Matt Bagshaw (Framingham, Mass.) made seven stops for Endicott.

USM returns to action on Tuesday when the University of New England visits the Gorham campus for a 3:30 contest. Endicott hosts Nichols College on Monday evening.
