The Game Story:
MADISON, NJ - Freshman midfielder Brian Gill (Levittown, NY/East Meadow) had four goals and two assists, senior attack Kevin Shadiack (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) had three goals and senior goalkeeper Alex Kajencki (Medfield, MA/Xaverian) made 12 saves to help the College at Florham Devils to an 11-4 win over Eastern in Middle Atlantic Conference action on Tuesday evening. The win gives FDU the inside track on the second seed in the upcoming MAC Tournament.

With the win, the Devils improved to 9-5 (8-2 MAC) while the Eagles dropped to 10-4 (8-2 MAC).

FDU came out absolutely on fire to begin the game. Gill got the scoring started with 10:31 left in the first quarter before Shadiack converted a man-up opportunity off a pass from junior attack Drew Canfield (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) with 8:11 left in the first quarter. Sophomore midfielder Pat O'Brien (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central) followed after he scored on a pass from Gill and Gill closed out the first quarter by scoring on a pass from O'Brien to make it 4-0. Shadiack, Gill and freshman attack Seth Molek (Oak Park, IL/Oak Park River Forest) scored the first three goals of the second quarter to give FDU a 7-0 advantage. Eastern came back to score the final two goals of the half to cut their halftime deficit to 7-2.

The Devils got those two goals right back to begin the third quarter though, as O'Brien converted from Gill and Shadiack tallied on another man-up from O'Brien. Eastern cut it to 9-3 with 10:59 left in the third quarter but Gill tallied with 4:43 left in the third to give FDU a 10-3 lead. Senior midfielder Taylor Evans (Easton, PA/Easton) made it 11-3 with 11:11 left in the game before the Eagles got their final goal of the contest with 3:27 to play.

O'Brien finished the game with two goals and three assists while Molek added a goal and an assist. Evan went 5-for-10 on faceoffs while senior midfielder Scott Neuberger (East Patchogue, NY/South Hampton) went 4-for-9.

The Devils return to action on Saturday, May 1, 2010, with their regular season finale at Lebanon Valley beginning at 1 pm. With a win, the Devils would lock up the second seed in the MAC Tournament.
