The Game Story:
The Hamilton College men's lacrosse team defeated the Farleigh Dickinson University Devils in their season opener 13-7. The Continentals were led by All American senior Matt Silverio (Villanova, PA) with 5 goals and 1 assist along with junior Dan Geiger (New Canaan, CT) who tallied 4 goals. Jim Henry (Sewickley, PA), Bryan St. John (Essex Fells, NJ), Jack Newton (Darien, CT), and Scott Cohen (New Canaan, CT) all had 1 goal a piece. Sophomore Amit Grover (Pittsburgh, PA) tallied 20 saves to lead the Continentals' defense. Despite 12 penalties throughout the game, the defense held and kept the Devils scoreless in the 4th quarter. The Devils were led by John Damiani with 2 goals and John Roberts, Clayton Zug, Chris Fieger, Derek Havaran, and Ed Flood all scored 1 goal.
