Guilford vs. Christopher Newport

The Game Story:
GREENSBORO, N.C. – John Glaser scored three goals and an assist to lead visiting Christopher Newport University to a 14-10 lacrosse win at Guilford College Wednesday.



Glaser’s third goal came with 4:53 left in the game and thwarted the Quakers’ fourth-quarter rally. Ray Fitzgerald and Brent Greer scored back-to-back goals less than a minute apart to open an 11-7 Christopher Newport lead. Guilford scored three of the next four goals, including Chris Sisk’s tally with 12:19 left in the game to make it a 12-10 Captains’ advantage.



The Quakers (0-3) had two extra-man chances in the fourth quarter, but Christopher Newport killed them off to keep the margin at two goals. Goalie Andy McGregor made one of his nine saves on Guilford’s Greg Nash midway through the period to maintain the Captains’ lead.



Dylan Godbout scored twice and had four assists for the Captains (2-1). Kevin Righi added four points on two goals and two assists. Britt Hoover contributed two scores and one assist.



Guilford’s Chris Sisk led the Quakers with three points on two goals and an assist. Daniel Dowd and Ken Keesee also tallied twice for Guilford. Nash had a goal and a game-high seven ground balls. Guilford goalie Mark Guillen made a game-high 13 saves.



The Quakers’ next game is Saturday (3/6) versus visiting Eastern University at 1:00 p.m.
