| ONEONTA, N.Y. - The 15th-ranked Hartwick College men's lacrosse team won its sixth straight game with a 19-14 conference victory over Utica College on Wednesday night at All-Weather Field. The Hawks (6-1, 3-0 Empire 8) took a 10-7 lead into halftime and led, 13-10, heading into the fourth quarter. Sophomore midfielder Brandon Kaminski scored with 10:08 left in the fourth to pull the Pioneers (4-4, 0-1) within 14-11. Hartwick then scored the next four goals to secure the victory. Senior midfielder Devin Poole paced the Hawks with five goals. Junior midfielder Mike Debrossy and sophomore midfielder Pat McCormack each scored three goals. Senior attackman Noah Hollander finished with two goals and two assists, and sophomore attackman Brian Miller scored two goals. Senior attackman Matt Donaldson contributed four goals and one assist, and sophomore midfielder Ryan McGowan had four goals to lead Utica. Junior attackman Kevin Whiting scored two goals and senior midfielder Nate Jobson had one goal and two assists. Hartwick received a game-high 17 saves from sophomore goaltender Jason Fautas. He played all 60 minutes and picked up five ground balls. Junior goaltender Sean Ryan played the opening 38:12 and stopped 12 shots for the Pioneers. Freshman Anthony Carnevale played the final 21:48 and made four saves. The Hawks will travel to meet third-ranked SUNY Cortland (5-1) at 1 p.m. Saturday. |
