The Game Story:
ONEONTA - Ethan Poole had six goals and two assists as the Hartwick College men's lacrosse team opened the season with a 24-9 victory over Western New England on Friday night at All-Weather Field.

Ross Pino added three goals and four assists, while Kevin Geraghty had two goals and three assists. Ryan Hoffmeister chipped in with three goals and one assist and fellow midfielder Ryan Maloney had three goals.

Pino is inching toward 100 career goals at Hartwick. He now has 95 goals and 64 assists in his career for 159 points. Meanwhile, Poole is now at 85 career goals.

Bill Luzzi had one goal, one assist, 14 ground balls and 21 won face-offs for Hartwick (1-0). Devin Poole got two goals in his first collegiate game, while fellow freshman Mike Rose had two assists. A.J. Palagonia, Brian Roy, Paul Fogel and Phil Wehrheim all had one goal.

The Hawks led 10-0 after the first quarter and were up 17-4 at intermission.

Kevin Savage and Tim Cinque had two goals and one assist apiece for Western New England (0-2).
