| ONEONTA, NY - Senior attackman Kevin Geraghty (Massapequa
HS/Massapequa, N.Y.) had nine assists and junior attackman Brian Prescott
(Duxbury HS/Duxbury, Mass.) scored six goals to lead the Hartwick College
men's lacrosse team to an 18-8 victory over St. John Fisher College on
Saturday at All-Weather Field.
The Hawks (4-1 overall, 1-0 Empire 8), who held a 6-4 lead heading into halftime, scored 12 goals in the second half to put the Cardinals (0-4, 0-2) away. Sophomore attackman Mike Debrossy (Westfield HS/Westfield, N.J.) tallied four goals on seven shots, and junior midfielder Mike Rose (Cheshire HS/Cheshire, Conn.) scored three goals for Hartwick. Junior midfielder Travis White (Baldwin HS/Baldwin, N.Y.) had two goals on three shots, and senior midfielder Greg Cohan (Farmingdale HS/Farmingdale, N.Y.) added two assists. St. John Fisher received three goals from sophomore attackman John Delle Donne (Hamburg HS/Hamburg, N.Y.). Freshman attackman Matthew Hargather (Fairport HS/Fairport, N.Y.) had two goals and three ground balls, and freshman midfielder Andrew Sugar (West Genesee HS/West Genesee, N.Y.) had two assists. Senior goaltender Mark Colite (Southington HS/Southington, Conn.) had 15 saves in 58 minutes for the Hawks, while junior Joe Alonge (James Madison/Vienna, N.Y.) stopped 17 shots in 55 minutes for the Cardinals. Hartwick had a 48-42 advantage in shots and a 49-43 edge in ground balls. The Hawks will play host to Elmira College for an Empire 8 Conference game at 7 p.m. Wednesday. |
