The Game Story:
HAVERFORD, Pa. – Eight second half goals, which included five unanswered, propelled the No. 11 Haverford College men’s lacrosse team to a 10-3 victory over Dickinson College on Saturday afternoon at Swan Field.

Max Hjelm and Travis Gregory scored three times apiece for Haverford (8-2, 4-0 CC). Brian Fleishhacker, Myles Monaghan, Zack Cohen and Henry Lanier all netted one goal.

Ward Gruppo, Casey Finkelstein and Sam Greenburg scored Dickinson's (5-5, 1-3 CC) goals.

Finkelstein scored the game’s first goal with 3:11 remaining in the first period. Monaghan evened things up, scoring with 10:26 showing in the second. The rest of the period was quiet until Hjelm scored with one second left for a 2-1 HC lead at the half.

Hjelm’s goal seemed to give Haverford all the momentum as three goals in less than four minutes to open the third period put the Fords ahead, 5-1. Cohen, Gregory and Hjelm scored in that span with the last two coming nine seconds apart.

The Red Devils ended HC’s run when Gruppo scored at the 11:31 mark, but Haverford scored the next five goals for a commanding 9-2 advantage.

Reigning Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week Joe Banno made 11 saves in goal for Haverford. Dickinson goalie Russell Matthews had 12 stops between the pipes.

The Fords will be home again on Wednesday when they host Ursinus College in the first night game at Swan Field. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m.
