#19 Haverford Defeats #11 Geneseo, 6-5;
Fleishhacker Scores Game-Winner with 12 Seconds Left in Double-Overtime

WILLIAMSPORT, PA - Haverford freshman attack Brian Fleishhacker scored the game-winning goal, his third of the game, with 12 seconds left in the second overtime period to give the 19th-ranked Haverford men's lacrosse team a 6-5 win over 11th-ranked Geneseo Wednesday afternoon. Fleishhacker led all scorers with three goals in the game.

Haverford got on the board first when senior attack Max Tcheyan scored 2:22 into the game. Fleishhacker registered his first goal of the game with the Fords a man up 6:56 into the first quarter. Fleishhacker's first tally of the contest would be Haverford's last goal until he netted his second goal with 4:58 left in the third quarter. The Fords fell behind 4-2 at the half, but Fleishhacker's third quarter goal pulled the Fords to within 4-3.

Haverford midfielder Peter Hannapel won the faceoff to open the fourth quarter, with Tcheyan picking up the ground ball heading towards the Geneseo net. Tcheyan drove towards the net and fired a shot past the Blue Knights keeper to tie the game at four a piece only seven seconds into the period. Geneseo answered in a similar way 18 seconds later, taking the 5-4 advantage. The Fords evened the game at five when senior midfielder Steve Selsor scored his second goal of the season with 4:19 left in the fourth quarter. Freshman defender Matt Dooley grabbed a ground ball after a scrum at midfield and passed the ball to Selsor who took the ball the distance and scored on a low shot. The contest remained tied at five until Fleishhacker grabbed the rebound off a shot by junior attack Mike Distler and quickly shot it past the Blue Knight keeper to give the Fords the 6-5 win.

Haverford senior goalie K.C. Peterson made nine saves, behind a solid Fords defense anchored by junior defender John Magovern ans Selsor, improving his record to 2-0 in net on the season. Distler had two assists while Hannapel and junior midfielder Shane Hafer each added a helper.

Haverford out shot Geneseo by a 47-25 margin. The Fords were 1-for-7 on man up opportunities while Geneseo converted on 1-of-3 man up chances. The Fords were successful on 18-of-21 clears as the Blue Knights went 21-of-26 on their clear attempts. Geneseo won seven of the game's 13 faceoffs.

The Fords will return to action next Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. game at Centennial foe Muhlenberg.
