March 19, 2011
The Game Story:
Orlando, Fla. - March 19, 2011 - Jarrid Johnson recorded a season-high four goals to lead the Springfield College men's lacrosse team a big win over Keene State, 9-6, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

Springfield snapped its three-game skid to improve to 3-3 on the year. Keene State lost for just the first time this season and they fall to 3-1. Both teams were among those teams receiving votes in this week's USILA National Coaches Poll.

The game was tied at five at the half, but the Pride's defense limited Keene State's offense to just one goal in the final 30 minutes to come away with the 9-6 victory.

Johnson was spectacular in his homecoming as the Orlando, Fla. native continued his impressive offensive output. After combining for four goals in the opening four games, Johnson has now tallied six goals an an assist in the Pride's last two outings.

Shane Ferguson broke out of his slump to pump in a hat trick out of the midfield for the Pride, while Mike Delia and Harry Bernstein each found the back of the cage once.

Connor Nash earned the win between the pipes for the Pride, coming up with timely stops in the second half to keep the Owls at bay.

At the face-off "X", Mark Eaton and Branden Fernandez split time as the Florida heat took its toll on the players.

Springfield will now prepare to take on Bowdoin on Wednesday, April 30. The game will be played in Exeter, N.H.
