The Game Story:
WILKES-BARRE, Pa.—Lycoming’s men’s lacrosse team (6-3, 1-0) defeated King’s College (3-3, 0-1) on Tuesday by a score of 17-11 in the opening game of both teams’ Middle Atlantic Conference schedule. It was the sixth win in a row for the Warriors, who began the season 0-3.

Current conference Player of the Week Dan Cannon (Orangeville, Ont.) led Lycoming with five goals and three assists. Sophomore Ed Williams (Florham Park, N.J.) and freshman Andrew Stoner (Orangeville, Ont.) scored three goals apiece, while senior Jim Cusick (Garnet Valley, Pa.) had three assists.

Lycoming jumped out to an 8-1 lead after the first quarter and led 12-3 at halftime. The Warriors out-shot the Monarchs 14-3 in the first quarter and 14-6 in the third quarter, but King’s converted four goals in the third to reduce the deficit to 16-7. Lycoming out-shot King’s 43-31 for the game and grabbed 41 ground balls to the Monarchs’ 33.

Warrior goalie Kyle Gilfoy (Exton, Pa.) made 11 saves for the game and secured three ground balls for the win.
