The Game Story:

Wilkes-Barre, Pa.-- The King's College men's lacrosse team used 5 second half goals to earn a 7-2 victory over visiting Oberlin Saturday afternoon at McCarthy Stadium in a non-league action.

The Monarchs (4-5) held a slim 2-1 going into the locker room, but scored with 8:31 left in the third period when Kieran McMahon converted a man up pass from A.J. Bungert. King's also got tallies from Billy McCollough and Lenny Fox unassisted in the period to build the lead to 5-1.

Oberlin (2-5) picked up an unassisted tally by Daniel Fineman at the 6:36 mark in the fourth quarter by King's answered with a pair of late goals from Fox and Kevin Sweeney to set the final.

McCollough got the scoring started early with 9:19 to play in the first quarter when he took a McMahon pass and buried to put the Monarchs up 1-0. Fox tallied just 36 seconds later to extend the lead. The Yeomen answered back with an anassisted marker from Mickey Fiorillo with 2:19 to play in the first.

King's held a 36-22 advantage in shots and McCollough raised his face-off percentage winning 11-of-12 draws on the day.

Fox led the King's offense with three goals on 10 shots. McMahon also tallied three points on a goal and two assists. McCollogh found the back of the net twice. Sweeney finished the day with two points, one goal and one assist, while Bungert had one helper.

Brendan McCrudden picked up the win between the pipes making six saves.

The Monarchs have a two week break before starting their confernce slate agasint FDU-Florham Saturday April, 14 at 1:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium.
