King's College vs. Susquehanna

The Game Story:
WILKES-BARRE , PA Sophomore Greg Norris and junior Greg Burns each scored a pair of fourth-quarter goals to help Susquehanna University rally for a 7-4 victory over King's College in Middle Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action on Wednesday afternoon.

Norris (St. Catharines, ON/Dennis Morris) finished with four goals and an assist on the afternoon while Burns (Charlotte, NC/South Mecklenburg) tallied both his goals in the final quarter as the Crusaders (3-10 overall, 3-6 MAC) overcame a 4-3 deficit to pick up the win over the Monarchs (2-12 overall, 2-8 MAC).

King's led 1-0 at the end of the first quarter, but a goal from freshman John Pillion (Collegeville, PA/Conestoga) and two by Norris gave the Crusaders a 3-1 lead late in the second quarter before the Monarchs tallied late in the half to cut the Susquehanna advantage to 3-2 at halftime.

Brendan Novotny and John Doran scored third-quarter goals for King's to give the Monarchs a 4-3 lead entering the fourth quarter, but Burns tied the game on his first goal of the day with 13:42 left. Norris netted the tiebreaking goal with 11:31 left, and insurance tallies by Norris and Burns in the final 35 seconds clinched the victory.

Norris led the Crusaders with 10 ground balls while Chad Flexon paced the Monarchs with seven ground balls. Susquehanna finished with a 35-29 edge in shots and held a 42-37 advantage in ground balls over the Monarchs.

In goal, freshman A.J. Schaufler (Bernardsville, NJ/Bernards) made 12 saves for the Crusaders while Andrew Bartle finished with 10 stops for the Monarchs.
