Lycoming vs. Dickinson

The Game Story:
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. --- After being tied 5-5 at halftime, the Lycoming College menís lacrosse team was unable to hold off Dickinson College on Wednesday, March 4. Warrior Brad Schaeffer had the game-high in points with five on one goal and four assists.

Lycoming falls to 0-3 overall, while Dickinson improves to 2-1.

The Warriors started the scoring with two goals early in the first quarter as Nate Walter put away a pass from Schaeffer at 10:52. Ed Williams scored his first of four goals 30 seconds later off the faceoff. Lycoming plugged another goal at 6:05 on a Williams shot, making the score 3-1. Two Devils goals knotted the score at three apiece. Ricky DeNenno tallied a goal with 4:51 remaining in the first half to put the Warriors up 4-3. Williams scoring another goal with 4:12 left, giving Lycoming a two goal lead, 5-3. Two more Dickinson goals tied the game 5-5 to end the half.

Dickinson used a pair of three goal runs in the third quarter to go up 11-6 on the Warriors. Schaeffer scored his goal with 6:30 remaining in the game, with the assist going to Steve Henz as the Warriors tried to climb back into the game. Two more goals by DeNenno and Walter were the final tallies of the game.

Kevin DevenneyIndividually, Williams led Lycoming in goals with four, while Walter and DeNenno had two apiece. Henz finished the day with two assists. In the net Kyle GIlfoy made 18 saves and had five groundballs. At the faceoff square, Mike Doherty won 10 and Tim Clemente won six. Doherty had a team-high seven groundballs.

As a team, Lycoming went 16 of 26 on faceoffs, and picked up 43 groundballs to Dickinsonís 32. The Warriors were able to clear the ball 24 out of 28 attempts.
