| LYNCHBURG, VA - The 13th ranked Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team extended a five-goal halftime lead to 11 with six unanswered third-quarter tallies Wednesday en route to a 16-7 win over visiting Greensboro College. The Hornets led 7-2 after one quarter and each team found the back of the net three times in the second stanza as LC took a 10-5 advantage into halftime. The Hornet defense didn't allow a score in the third while six Hornet goals put the game away. Senior Billy McCulloch (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) scored five times for LC, while freshman Ryan Cranston (West Chester, PA/B. Reed Henderson) posted two goals and five assists. Junior A.J. Tinklepaugh (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) had three goals and three assists and junior Ryan Quick (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle) had two tallies. Brian Kemper (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) had a goal and an assist, while Logan Erickson (Marietta, GA/Lassiter), Johnny Black (Timonium, MD/St. Paul's) and Scott McAlee (Burke, VA/Lake Braddock) each had one score. Freshman Garrett Curran (Hull, MA/Tabor Academy) made six saves to notch his sixth victory in net. Kenney Jordan had two goals and an assist for the Pride (5-2), while Matt Perry and Ian Montgomery each had two goals. LC out shot Greensboro 44-28 and held the Pride to just one of 10 on extra-man opportunities. Lynchburg (6-2) hosts Old Dominion Athletic Conference rival Virginia Wesleyan College Saturday at 2 p.m. |
