The Game Story:
LYNCHBURG, VA - Senior attack Reed Horanburg scored off a feed from Kevin Dennstaedt two minutes into the third overtime period to give the Messiah College men's lacrosse team a 10-9 triple overtime victory over 10th ranked Lynchburg College Wednesday.

The contest was tied at four at halftime and at seven after three full periods of play. After a goal from Ryan White, Hornet Charlie Enman (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) scored two consecutive goals from Billy McCulloch (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) to put LC ahead 9-8 with 5:04 left in regulation. Dennstaedt tied the game with 4:24 left in the fourth quarter for Messiah, and the game went into sudden-death overtime. Neither team could score in the first two four-minute OT periods, until Horanburg's tally midway through the third extra stanza, at the 2:04 mark.

Brian Kemper (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) and Enman each had two goals for Lynchburg (3-2), while Billy McCulloch posted a goal and three assists. Brian McCulloch (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) had a goal and an assist, and Kevin Reinecke (Crofton, M/Arundel), Todd Collier (Fairfax, VA/Robinson Secondary) and Ryan Quick (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle) each had one goal. Nick Braun (Midlothian, VA/Clover Hill) made seven saves.

Dennstaedt paced the Falcons (1-2) with three goals and an assist, while Dan Videon had two goals and an assist. Horanburg scored twice, and Nat Pierce tallied a goal and an assist. Netminder Chris Gilbert made 15 saves to record the victory. Lynchburg out shot their guests 44-33 and won 16 of the 24 face-off opportunities, all taken for the Hornets by Scott McAlee (Burke, VA/Lake Braddock).
