| LYNCHBURG, VA - Freshman attack Ryan Cranston (West Chester, PA/B. Reed Henderson) scored a game-high four goals as the Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team defeated St. Marys (MD) College 13-8 Saturday in non-conference action. Brothers Billy McCulloch (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) and Brian McCulloch (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) both scored three times for LC, while Brian Kemper (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) added two goals and two assists. Ryan Quick (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle) chipped in with a goal and an assist for the Hornets. Lynchburg face-off specialist Scott McAlee (Burke, VA/Lake Braddock) finished with a game-high 10 groundballs. St. Mary's (0-1) was led by Dave Mueller, who scored three times for the Seahawks. Paul Schmidt also added a goal and an assist for the visitors. Both teams won 13 face-offs, while St. Mary's outshot the Hornets 29-26. Lynchburg (1-0) will be back in action a week from today when they host Ohio Wesleyan University. Game time set for 2 p.m. on Shellenberger Field. |
