| Max Voumard Scores Four as LC Lax Rolls 19-6 over VWC For immediate release -4/23/2011 - #362 Max Voumard Scores Four as LC Lax Rolls 19-6 over VWC LYNCHBURG, VA – Sophomore attack Max Voumard netted four scores and added an assist Saturday afternoon as the Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team defeated visiting Virginia Wesleyan College 19-6 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) regular-season finale for both teams. Voumard scored an unassisted tally just 29 second into play and Andrew Adamson scored a minute later to tie the score at one. Ben Sauer and Chris Eggeling found the back of the net in to give LC a 3-1 lead with just 3:20 expired off the game clock. VWC answered with a Brandon Kirklin tally but the Hornets rattled off the next four goals, two by Voumard. The Marlins scored at 11:10 but again Lynchburg had a goal-scoring surge, this time netting the next 10 tallies. Andrew Wilfong had three goals and an assist while Dylan Hoff also had a hat trick. Eddie Bilinkas totaled a goal and two assists and Eggeling, Derek Sweet and David Alyanakian each had a goal and an assist. Joseph Lisicky, Ben Sauer, Charlie Oldendorp, Jason Long and Chris Hower each also scored for LC. Six different players scored the Marlins goals: Adam Nycz, Kevin Topper, Ryan McArthur, Kirklin, Mike Tibbs and Adamson. Lynchburg out-shot VWC 41-36 and won 18 of the game's 29 face-off attempts. Jeff Schwartz won 16 of his 20 attempts. Lynchburg (11-5/5-2 ODAC) will host a first-round ODAC Tournament game this week with seedings and match-ups to be released soon by the conference office. |
