MMA (1-0) had a 9-0 lead after a period and a 13-2 lead at the half before scoring the last 7 goals to finish the contest. Andrew DiSalvo í12 (Glastonbury, CT) got his career off to a great start by scoring 10 points on the day, including a 7 assists performance. Senior Garrett Lake (Farmington, ME) and sophomore Todd Murphy (Middlesex, VT) each scored three goals while Wade Mondoux (Berwick, ME) added a goal and 3 assists. Freshman goalie Daniel Redmond (Westbrook, ME) made 8 saves earning his first collegiate win.
For Green Mountain (0-1), Chris Wetzel (Highland Falls, NY) and Thomas Wheeler (Seattle, WA) each had a goal for the Eagles while Max Talsky (Hanover, NH) and Edgar Vigil (Marlborough, MA) each added an assist. Steve Braunius (Lake Pleasant, NY) took the loss making 14 saves on 50 shots.
The Mariners' (1-0) return to action Wednesday when they host Thomas College at 4:00 p.m. Next up for the Eagles will be a home game when they host Mitchell College tomorrow.
