The Game Story:
FREDERICKSBURG, VA - Marymount University jumped out to a 4-0 lead and held on for a 7-6 win at the Battleground in Capital Athletic Conference action on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles trailed 6-2 entering the fourth quarter, and cut the deficit to 6-5 with three goals in the span of one minute in the fourth quarter. But the Saints added an all-important insurance goal, which ended up being the game winner. UMW scored in the final minute, but were unable to capture the tying goal.
D.J. Tayman scored four goals for the Saints to lead both teams. Kevin Conklin added two goals for the Saints. UMW was led by Sean Brown and Marc D'Eredita, who each scored twice.
Alex Hammer had seven saves for MU, and Eric Everitt had four saves for UMW. The Eagles will visit York College on Saturday at 1 pm.
