Sophomore Tyler Mayberry (North Yarmouth, Maine) snapped the Beacons' scoring string when he put Southern Maine on the board at 4:23 of the second quarter to make it 8-1. UMass Boston's Thayer and Cusack tallied the only goals of the third quarter for a 10-1 advantage and freshman Derek O'Leary (Melrose, Mass.) netted his first collegiate goal for the Beacons to open the fourth quarter's scoring at the 12:11 mark, while Nunn followed with another UMB goal at 8:44 to give the Beacons a 12-1 lead. Huskies' sophomore Lee Gauthier (Berwick, Maine) sandwiched a pair of goals around Nunn's third score of the game to close out the game for a 13-3 final. Kovach added seven ground balls to his day for UMass Boston, while Thayer tallied three points on a pair of goals and an assist in addition to seven ground balls.
