Mass Maritime vs. Salem State

The Game Story:
Mass. Maritime Academy took control down the stretch, outscoring Salem State 3-2 in the final quarter to seal a 9-7 victory over the Vikings in Buzzards Bay.

The Bucs held a 6-5 lead starting the fourth period but Salem States Alex Verity tied it less than 30 seconds into the quarter with an assist from Jonathan Falls. Ryan Linn made it 7-6 only to see Falls get the equalizer moments later. MMA scores by Ed Klodarska and Brian Burke with under 10 minutes to play and solid defense by the Bucs allowed MMA (3-4) to hold on for the win. Salem goes to 5-3 with the loss.

Matt Sullivan and Brian Burke had three goals each for Maritime and Klodarska, John Herman and Ryan Linn added one each. Klodarska and Connor Burke assisted on two scores each.

Salem was led by Verity with two goals and solo scores from Falls, Justin Jones, Ross Arnold, Luke Metraw and James Cross.

Alex Deveaux got his first start of the season in goal for MMA and responded with 11 saves.

The Bucs are idle until Saturday when they host Springfield College in a 1:00 PM Pilgrim League game.
