ROCHESTER, N.Y.. (March 4, 2006) -- Host Nazareth opened its 2006 men's lacrosse season in victorious fashion Saturday as the Golden Flyers defeated Springfield in a non-conference game, 16-6. The game was the season opener for both teams.

Senior Bryan Adams (pictured) scored four goals and added two assists against the 17th-ranked Pride. Nazareth is ranked third nationally in Division III.

Springfield scored three of the game's first four goals, but Nazareth answered with seven straight goals to take a commanding 8-3 lead after the first 30 minutes. Adams (Guilderland HS/Schenectady, NY) and Ryan Hotaling (Onondaga HS/Syracuse, NY) each scored before the first quarter ended to tie the score at 3-3, then Hotaling scored off an assist from Adams early in the second quarter to give Nazareth a 4-3 lead and the Golden Flyers never trailed again.
