The Game Story:
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Senior Jarod Koopman (Waterloo HS/Waterloo, NY) scored off a pass from Jeff Monroe (Fayetteville-Manlius HS/Fayetteville, NY) 18 seconds into sudden death overtime Saturday to lift Nazareth to a 10-9 victory over St. Lawrence in men's lacrosse. The victory evened Nazareth's record at 1-1. St. Lawrence is 2-1.

Koopman's goal capped a dramatic comeback by the ninth-ranked Golden Flyers, who scored twice in the final 1:44 of regulation to force overtime. Koopman scored an unassisted goal at 13:16, then Brian Roden (Bethpage HS/Bethpage, NY) scored with 59 seconds left in the fourth quarter to tie the score at 9-9.

The score was tied 3-3 at halftime and 6-6 after three quarters. St. Lawrence, however, built a 9-7 lead on two unassisted goals by Tim Loveless (G.Ray Bodley HS/Fulton, NY) and one by Tim Barnhorst (Holderness School.Eliot, ME). Loveless paced the visiting Saints with three goals, while Peter Dolan Hopewell Valley HS/Princeton, NJ) scored twice.

Roden finished with three goals for Nazareth, while Koopman and Chad Kuczek (Auburn HS/Auburn, NY) each scored twice. Freshman goalie Don Green (Hendrick Hudson HS/Cortlandt Manor, NY) contributed 14 saves. Stephen Salotti (Geneva HS/Geneva, NY) made 20 saves for St. Lawrence.
