Nazareth vs. Utica College

The Game Story:
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (April 6, 2005) ~V Host Nazareth scored the game's first 13
goals Wednesday and had little difficulty remaining unbeaten in men's
lacrosse as the Golden Flyers defeated Utica, 22-6.

The game, played at Golden Flyer Stadium, was Nazareth's first in Empire 8
Conference action this season. Nazareth, ranked second nationally in
Division III, improved to 6-0 overall. Utica is 0-3 in conference play and
4-6 overall.

Nazareth scored 11 times in the first quarter on 14 shots and the Pioneers
never recovered. The Golden Flyers added the first two goals of the second
quarter and eventually settled for a 17-3 halftime lead. Junior attackman
Greg Kanellis scored all of his team-best four goals in the first two
quarters.

Sophomore midfielders Conor O'Keefe and Kevin Gibbons each scored two goals
as did junior Ryan Maciaszek and senior Ryan Feltner. Three others for
Nazareth were credited with their first career goal: freshmen A.J. Civalier,
Steve Cutia and Greg Leininger.

Nazareth had a 52-31 edge in shots and the Golden Flyers' three goalies --
starter Alex Civalier (8 saves), Pat Mullin (5) and George Polino (6) --
combined to make 19 saves.

Nazareth plays another Empire 8 Conference game Saturday at 15th-ranked
Hartwick at 1 p.m.
