Neumann vs. American International

The Game Story:
ASTON, Pa. Ė The Neumann University menís lacrosse drops their home opener to American International 11-8 on Monday evening.

Neumannís Justin Mailkoux and Dominc Collichio each scored two goals on the night.

American International had four players with multiple goals. Dan MacIssac and Brett Serriello netted three goals each. Alex Walter and Aaron McNab each scored two.

The Knights took control the play in the first quarter. Tom Hedrick opened up the scoring on the evening and gave Neumann the early lead. Neumann added on two more goals in the first fifteen minutes of play to take an early 3-1 lead.

The Yellow Jackets responded in second quarter. Serriello scored two of the four goals for American International in the second quarter. Neumann netted two in the second to take the game into halftime tied at five.

The third quarter saw the teams well matched, with strong defensive play from both teams. The teams both netted two goals and remained tied going into the final quarter. The Knights struggled in the fourth quarter and could not keep the Yellow Jackets off the board. American International netted four goals in the last fifteen minutes to take home the 11-8 win.

Neumannís Andrew Neubauer recorded 23 saves in the loss.

Neumann travels to Hood College on Wednesday for a non-conference match-up. The face-off is slated for 3 p.m.
