|HENNIKER, N.H. – New England College men's lacrosse remained undefeated in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play beating the visiting Lyndon State College Hornets 30-1 Wednesday afternoon.|
With the win the Pilgrims improve to 7-6 overall and 6-0 in the NAC. The loss drops the Hornets to 2-5 on the season and 2-3 in NAC play.
The Pilgrims would come out of the gate on fire netting six goals in the opening three minutes of play. NEC would continue to dominate the offense closing out the opening quarter up 15-0. The Pilgrims would tack on five goals in each of the remaining three quarters eventually cruising to the 30-1 victory.
Fifteen different players would score for NEC, including Chris Gomes (Sandwich, Mass.) who lead all scorers with seven goals. NEC's Kevin Marceau (Concord, N.H.) netted a goal and dished out five assists, while James Putney finished with two goals and three assists.
Scoring the Hornets lone goal was Anthony Amoroso (Jamestown, N.Y.) assisted by Mario Viola.
Picking up the win in goal for NEC was Nick Aquaviva. In goal for Lyndon State was Matt Reynolds (New Fairfield, Conn.) who finished with an impressive 24 saves.
