The Game Story:
THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (April 4, 2012) – The Maritime men’s lacrosse team rallied from a four-goal deficit with three late goals, but the Privateers fell short of visiting Manhattanville College, 10-9, Wednesday night at Reinhart Field. Maritime falls to 2-10 on the season, while the Valiants improve to 2-8.

Sophomore Mike Johnson (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) scored his first career hat-trick to lead the Privateers. It was Johnson’s third goal with 3:02 to go in the fourth that made it a one-goal game.

The Privateers fell to a four-goal deficit, 10-6, at 12:42 of the fourth when Corey Steimel found the back of the net with his second goal for Manhattanville. However, Maritime fought back with a man-down goal by sophomore Wess Johnson (Elgin, S.C./Heath Wood Hall) at 8:36, followed by two quick goals at 3:53 and 3:02 by sophomore Brennen Siele (Manorville, N.Y./Eastport South Manor) and Mike Johnson, respectively.
