Nichols vs. Plymouth State

The Game Story:
DUDLEY, Mass.- Plymouth State scored earned a 12-6 victory over Nichols in non-conference menís lacrosse action on Sunday at Vendetti Field. The Panthers, who led 5-2 at halftime, scoring five goals in the fourth to hand the Bison their sixth straight loss of the season. Plymouth State, which improves to 4-2 on the year, was led by senior Adam Krinsky (Concord, N.H.) with three goals and three assists.



Nichols got on the board first with a man-up goal at the 5:02 mark of the first quarter. Freshman Brian Gattie (Plainfield, Mass.) scored the goal while senior Peter Smyth (Bradford, Mass.) provided the assist. A goal by senior Lucas Wilson (Falmouth, Mass.) gave Nichols a 2-1 lead heading into the second quarter but the Panthers netted four straight goals to take a 5-2 lead at halftime.



Krinsky scored his first of two goals early in the second half to give the Panthers a 6-2 edge. Wilson ended Nichols scoring draught with 10:18 left in the third and a goal 24 seconds later by freshman Ryan Pacific (Danbury, Conn.) made it a two goal game, 6-4.



Plymouth State went on to out-score the Bison 6-2 in the final 15:32 of the game, including back-to-back goals from senior John Cogswell (Jefferson, Mass.). He totaled three goals on the day as did freshman Andrew Eriksen (Beverly, Mass.). Sophomore Kyle Belanger (Southington, Conn.) added two goals while sophomore Brian Giroux (Wolfeboro Falls, N.H.) registered three assists.



Wilson led Nichols with a pair of goals while Smyth chipped in with one goal and two assists. In net, freshman Austin Healy (Westford, Mass.) recorded 17 saves. Freshman Kevin Hayes (Beverly, Mass.) had 13 saves for Plymouth State.



Nichols will continue home action this Tuesday when it hosts Endicott at 7 p.m.
