Ohio Wesleyan vs. Saint John Fisher

The Game Story:
The St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team lost its first game of the year 10-5 at Ohio Wesleyan University.

After giving up two goals to start the game, Connor Henderson scored his first of three goals to make it a one goal margin at 2-1 with 4:50 remaining in the first quarter. Ohio Wesleyan answered with four straight goals, which went into the second half.

Mike Byrnes broke the run with a goal in the third quarter with 9:48 remaining, making the score 7-2. Henderson then offset another goal by Ohio Wesleyan to make the score 8-3 before the opponent rattled off two more scores. At 10-3, the Cardinals added the last two goals of the game, one fomr Kyle Denhoff and one for Henderson's third of the game.

Jamie Campagna started in goal for the Cardinals, playing 59:10 between the posts, stopping seven shots.

There were some bright points for the cardinal and gold, as they completed 17-of-20 clears, had fewer turnovers than the opponent, grabbed two more groundballs and won one more faceoff in the X. Mitch Ritchie and Ryan Freije each led the Cardinals with five groundballs.

At 0-1, Fisher will return to action at 4 p.m. on March 13 when it hosts The College at Brockport.
