Oneonta State vs. Saint John Fisher

The Game Story:
Senior Dan Bakke (Floral Park, NY/Floral Park) scored four goals and added two assists this afternoon in leading Oneonta State to a lopsided victory against visiting St. John Fisher 14-3. The win for the Red Dragons evens its overall record at 4-4 while the Cardinals remain winless at 0-8.

Oneonta scored four goals in each of the first two quarters to lead 8-0 at halftime. Bakke already had his hat-trick in the first half while junior Chad Wagoner (Chittenango, NY/Chittenango) registered a pair of goals.

Oneonta scored the first goal of the third quarter before sophomores Chris Cortina (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton, NY) and Brandon Harvey (Webster, NY/Webster-Schroeder) scored back-to-back goals less than one minute apart for St. John Fisher to cut the lead to 9-2. The Red Dragons twarted any notion of a comeback for the visitors with three straight goals and finished the third quarter with a 12-3 lead.

Senior goalie Mike Louer (Islip, NY/Islip) made eight saves in picking up the win for Oneonta. The Red Dragons will play its SUNYAC opener this coming Wednesday at home against SUNYIT beginning at 4:00 p.m. The Red Dragons' final seven games of the regular season are all conference games where they need to finish in the top four to make the SUNYAC tournament.
