The Game Story:
LIVERPOOL, N.Y. ^ Junior Drew Hyatt (Jamesville/Jamesville-DeWitt) recorded four goals and one assist as nationally seventh-ranked Cortland defeated Oswego 18-9 in a SUNYAC matchup Saturday night at Liverpool High School.

Sophomore Adam Hughes (North Syracuse/Cicero-North Syracuse) and junior Andrew Roth (Ridgewood, NJ/Don Bosco Prep) each added three goals and one assist and sophomore Chris Soluri (Chaumont/General Brown) scored three times for the Red Dragons (5-2, 3-0 SUNYAC). Senior Steve Feltmann (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) registered three saves and allowed two goals in 34 minutes. Senior Michael Draper (Massapequa Park/Massapequa) stopped five shots over the final 26 minutes.

Junior Scott Ferguson (Ronkonkoma/Connetquot) scored five times and senior Jeff Cottet (East Syracuse/East Syracuse-Minoa) tallied four goals to account for all of the Lakers^ scoring. Junior goalie Dave Moore (Webster) made 18 saves.

Oswego took an early 1-0 lead when Cottet stole the ball and scored on a 20-yard shot into an empty net three minutes, 33 seconds into the game. Cortland, however, took a 2-1 lead after one quarter on goals by Hyatt and Roth and outscored the Lakers 7-1 in the second quarter to lead 9-2 at halftime. The lead grew to 13-2 on four Red Dragon third-quarter goals, two by Hughes.

Cottet scored the final two goals of the third quarter and Ferguson found the net twice to start the fourth quarter to bring Oswego back within 13-6, but the Lakers got no closer.

The Red Dragons outshot Oswego 71-32, including a 36-9 margin in the first half. Junior Andrew Pultz (Farmingdale) won 18-of-30 faceoffs and picked up 13 ground balls.
