The Game Story:
OSWEGO, NY -- RIT junior midfielder Zach Bednarz (Webster, NY/Webster) took a pass from David Thering (Fairport, NY/Fairport) and scored the game-winner with 2:27 to play in the overtime to capture a 9-8 win over Oswego State on Saturday. The win improves RIT's record to 5-4, while Oswego State drops to 2-6 on the season.

It took a while for the Tigers to get going as they spotted Oswego a 4-0 lead early in the second quarter. RIT finally got on the board with 10:10 to play in the second on a goal by Colin Jesien (Cambridge, MD/S. Dorchester-Cambridge). Brandon Wilkin scored on an assist from Thering with 7:32 to play in the second to make it 4-2.

Jesien scored his second goal of the quarter on an assist from freshman Andrew Ruocco (Corning, NY/Corning East) to make it 4-3.

Ruocco tied the score at 4-4 with 1:47 to play in the half on an assist from David Thering.

The Lakers took the lead back at 12:55 of the third on a goal by Chris Mitchell. Ruocco tied the score at 5-5 with 11:58 to play in the third on an assist from Bednarz.

The Lakers opened a two-goal lead early in the fourth on goals by Steve Tronovitch and Adam Phelps to make it 7-5.

RIT answered with three straight goals of their own to take an 8-7 lead. Jesien scored with 6:10 to play on Thering's third assist of the day to make it 7-6.

Joe Argese (Jordan, NY/Jordan-Elbridge) made it 7-7 with his unassisted goal with 4;03 to play. Jesien gave the Tigers their first lead of the game with 3:16 to play.

The Lakers would not be denied as Mike Strohm tied the game with four seconds to play on an assist from Tronovitch.

Bednarz struck for his only goal of the game at the 2:33 mark of overtime on the assist from Thering to give RIT their fourth straight victory.

Jesien led RIT with four goals and Thering had four assists. Ruocco added two goals and an assist and Bednarz tallied a goal and an assist.

John Foley (Guelph, Ontario/Our Lady of Lourdes) started the game making five saves and allowing four goals. Brad Conlon (Ottawa, Ontario/Bridgton Academy) playded the second half and the overtime, making two saves and allowing four goals.

RIT hosts Ithaca College on Wednesday at 4 p.m. That game will be broadcast on 1040 WYSL AM.
