The Game Story:
Oswego State men's lacrosse team beats Union 13-8 for first win Oswego, NY: The Oswego State men^s lacrosse team earned its first win of the young season by defeating Union College 13-8 on Wednesday, March 12th at the PathFinder Bank Sports Complex in Oswego.

The Lakers squared their record at 1-1 on the season, while the Dutchmen fell to 0-2.

Oswego State broke open a four-all tie at the half scoring six times in the third period. The teams traded a pair of goals early in the quarter before the Dutchmen took their final lead of the game at 7-6 on a goal by Dan Myerow. The Lakers then closed out the period scoring four consecutive goals to jump in front 10-7. Jeff Cottet (East Syracuse) got the first of those goals with Brian Dautrich (Auburn) getting two of the next three with Scott Ferguson netting the other.

The lead continued to grow in the fourth as the Lakers scored three more times with Adam Phelps (Jordan), Ferguson and Brandon Mapes each scoring putting the hosts in front 13-7.

Union closed out the scoring with 3:09 remaining as Pete Gross scored while the Dutchmen were in a man-up situation. Laker goalie Mike Nolan (Auburn) made 11 saves in the win, while Union goalie Will Tamm stopped 18 Oswego State shots. Dautrich paced the Lakers with three goals and two assists, while Ferguson had three goals and one assist.

Myerow led the Dutchmen with three goals and one assist and Gross also had three goals.

The Lakers return to action on Saturday, March 15th hosting RIT at the PathFinder Bank Sports Complex at 2 p.m.
