| Oswego, NY: The Oswego State men^Òs lacrosse team raced out to a big lead
over visiting Farmingdale and never looked back as the Lakers coasted to
a 21-7 victory over the Rams at Oswego High School on Saturday, April
20th.
The Lakers moved to 7-6 on the season with the win, while Farmingdale
dropped to 4-8.
Oswego State scored eight times in the opening frame with Jeff Salisbury
(Oswego) being involved on both goals. The freshman set up junior Brian
Dautrich (Auburn) for the first and then scored on a feed from Adam
Phelps (Jordan) for a 2-0 lead.
After the teams traded goals, the Lakers scored five times in the final
5:02 for an 8-2 advantage. Oswego State controlled the second quarter scoring all four goals with sophomore Scott Ferguson (Ronkonkomo) getting two of them. The Lakers added to the lead in the third with six goals and then capped off the game with three more in the third. Ferguson paced the Oswego State attack with four goals and one assist with Dautrich finishing with three goals and one assist. Salisbury had two goals and two assists, while senior Jason Hawthorne (Baldwinsville) and had four points, all on assists. Darin Ledwith (Rochester) started for the Lakers in goal and made eight saves with Dave Moore (Auburn) making three, while Keith VanIderstine (Rockville Centre) and Travis Hon (Cape Elizabeth, ME) each making one.
