Oswego State vs. Saint John Fisher

The Game Story:
The St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team defeated SUNY Oswego 10-6 on Saturday to improve to 5-0 on the year, marking the program's best start.

With the game tied at 3-3 going into the second half, Fisher's Dave Wood won the opening face off and Ryan Kavanaugh scored just nine seconds into the third period to give Fisher the lead for good. The Cardinals scored three more goals in third quarter - all of which came in a 1:58 span midway the stanza and led 7-3 going into the fourth.

Oswego (1-3) scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter, cutting Fisher's lead to 7-5 with 11:57 left, but the Cardinals answered with two goals over the next four minutes to regain command.

Scott Bowen led Fisher with three goals and one assist. Dave Malone finished with two goals and one assist, while Jeff Price, Dennis Bell, Mike Cummins and Kavanaugh each finished with one goal and one assist. Chris Schmidt also scored for the Cardinals.

Wood won 15-of-18 face offs and finished with 13 ground balls.

Jon Cortina stopped eight shots in the first half, while Dan Serafine registered two saves over the final 30 minutes.
