|Twelve Cardinal players scored as the lacrosse team dominated Green Mountain from the opening whistle and ran past the Eagles, 24-4, April 23 in Plattsburgh, NY.
The Cardinals (6-5) got four goals from Kenny Pierson and three each from Zack Boyce, Peter Vottis, Damian DiDomenico and Trey Spencer in the victory.
Vottis scored at 14:17 of the first quarter to give Plattsburgh an early lead, but Green Mountain’s Dax Nitishin scored the first of his three goals at the 11:24 mark to tie the game at 1.
The Cardinals led 10-2 after the first quarter, 16-3 at halftime and 21-3 after the third quarter.
Chris Jones earned the win in the Cardinal nets, making six saves in 30 minutes.
Pierson added five assists to his four goals to lead Plattsburgh offensively. Boyce chipped in with three assists in addition to his three goals.
Mike O’Hara took the loss for Green Mountain, making seven saves on 52 shots.
Plattsburgh will hit the road for a key SUNYAC game at Geneseo April 26 before returning home for the season finale against Brockport at 2 pm.
