| Oswego State men^Òs lacrosse team holds off Plattsburgh, 14-11
Oswego, NY: The Oswego State men^Òs lacrosse team earned its first SUNY
Athletic Conference victory of the season by holding off Plattsburgh by
the score of 14-11 on Friday, April 5th at the PathFinder Bank Community
Sports Complex.
The Lakers are now 1-2 in conference play and 3-5 overall. The loss put
the Cardinals at 1-6 overall and 0-3 in the SUNYAC. Plattsburgh closed to within 11-8 with the first three goals of the third quarter, but Brian Dautrich (Auburn/Auburn) and Isgro both netted late goals to help Oswego carry a 14-10 lead into the final quarter. Laker goalie Darin Ledwith (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) held his ground in the final frame making several of his 15 saves as Plattsburgh tried to mount a comeback. Dautrich paced the Lakers with four goals and one assist, while Hawthorne had a pair of goals and two assists. Vottis had three goals for the Cardinals and Lappies and Pat Shea (Shelbourne, VT/Champlain Valley) each scored twice. Ryan Parks (Waverly/Waverly) made 10 saves in goal for Plattsburgh, while Jake Barney (Watertown/Jefferson CC) had three. The Lakers be back in action on Monday, April 8th hosting Utica/Rome at 4 p.m. at the PathFinder Bank Community Sports Complex. |
