|Potsdam Downs Lacrosse In Overtime, 10-9|
Potsdam's Josh Hickey scored in overtime to give the Bears a 10-9 victory over the lacrosse team in a SUNYAC game April 3 in Plattsburgh.
Hickey's goal from the right side 2:29 into the sudden-death overtime period ended a furious comeback bid by Plattsburgh (1-5, 1-2 SUNYAC).
The Cardinals scored twice in the final two minutes, including a goal by Pat Shea with just 4.6 seconds remaining in regulation, to send the contest into extra time.
The game was tied, 5-5, at halftime, with each team getting two goals in the first quarter and three in the second.
Potsdam (1-2, 1-1) took an 8-6 lead in the third period, but Plattsburgh outscored the Bears 3-1 in the final frame for the tie.
Shea led all scorers with four goals. Peter Vottis scored two and Jason Lappies, Mike Uchal and Damian DiDomenico each tallied one for the Cards.
Jedidiah Hammill scored three goals - one a man up - and Erik Lemelbaum also tallied three times for Potsdam. Hickey scored two goals and Eric Lehman and Jason Bressett each added a goal.
Terry Roehm earned the win in the Bear net, making nine saves. Jake Barney took the loss, stopping seven shots.
Plattsburgh will return to action in a SUNYAC contest at Oswego April 5 at 4 pm.
