The Game Story:
Plattsburgh State junior Bill Schmitt (Garrison, NY/Lakeland Panas) scored the first three goals for Plattsburgh State but the Cardinals managed just three more goals the rest of the game and dropped a 14-6 decision to St. Lawrence University Tuesday afternoon at the PSU Lacrosse Complex in Plattsburgh.

Schmitt scored the first goal of the game with under two minutes gone in the contest to give Plattsburgh (2-2) the early lead but St. Lawrence answered with the next five goals. Schmitt scored twice in the second to make it a 5-3 game with eight minutes left in the first half.

The Saints closed out the half with two goals in the final 1:30 to take a 7-3 lead into the intermission.

The teams exchanged goals to start the second half as SLU maintained a lead at 9-5.

Freshman Billy Hughes (East Patchogue, NY/Bellport) made 19 saves for Plattsburgh as St. Lawrence held a 34-14 shots on goal advantage.

The Cardinals host Cazenovia College Saturday before opening the SUNYAC schedule with a home game against Potsdam on April 6.
