| POTSDAM - Despite scoring 7 points in an explosive fourth period rally, the
SUNY Potsdam men (5-2, 2-2) fell 11-10 to the visiting Oswego Lakers (4-6,
1-2) in Wednesday's SUNYAC lacrosse contest.
Oswego jumped to a quick 5-1 first period lead. The Bears trailed 8-3 at halftime before falling to 10-3 at the end of the third period. The Potsdam rally began with a little less than seven minutes remaining and scoring continued until the 6-second mark. If the Bears had only had a little more clock left, today's outcome would might have been different. Scott Ferguson (Ronkonkoma/ Connetquot) led Oswego with 4 goals and 1 assist followed by Brian Dautrich (Auburn/ Auburn) with 3 goals and 1 assist. Mike Malecki (Baldwinsville/ Baker) added 2 goals and 1 assist as another Laker leader. Goalkeeper Dave Moore (Webster/ Webster) collected 10 saves in the victory. Jed Hammill (Brasher Falls/ St. Lawrence Central) tallied 2 goals and 3 saves as he led the Potsdam cause. Greg Stocks (Nanaimo/ Nanaimo) added 2 goals while Harrison Rogers colledted 1 and 2 to aid the Potsdam effort. Ryan Hanretty (Wiliamsville/ Williamsville South) had 17 saves at goal during in three periods of play before being relieved by Brian Albanese (East Syracuse/ ESM) who kept goal in the fourth with 8 saves. |
