The Game Story:
POTSDAM, N.Y. - Sophomore Corey Reinhart (Albany/Colonie) scored
three goals and one assist and senior Matt Vaverchak
(Binghamton/Seton Catholic) scored the game-winner with 8:44 left as
the Bears survived SUNY Oswego's upset bid, 9-8.



Vaverchak finished with two goals and one assist. Freshman Justin
Wilson-Kirby (Oakville, Ont./T.A. Blakelock) also notched two goals
while sophomores Conor O'Neill (Ballston Lake/Shenendehowa) and Andy
Sauer (Liverpool/Cicero-North Syracuse) added one apiece. Junior Nik
Bryan (Fairport/Fairport) made two assists while O'Neill and junior
George Nolan (Marcellus/Marcellus) contributed one.



Defensively, freshmen Andy Deer (Vestal/Vestal) and David Blackburn
(Ogdensburg/Heuvelton) picked up five ground balls each. Junior Brett
Wetzel (Ithaca/Ithaca) added three and senior goalkeeper Brian
Hondorf (Webster/Webster-Schroeder) made 12 saves.



For Oswego (3-9, 0-5), senior Steve Tronovitch (Binghamton/Chenango
Forks) scored three goals and junior Mike Strohm (Waterloo/Waterloo)
had two goals and two assists. Sophomore Mike Recor (Kirkville/East
Syracuse-Minoa) also scored twice while fellow sophomore Mike
Brewster (East Syracuse/East Syracuse-Minoa) dished three assists.
Junior goalie Matt Pfister (Patchogue/Patchogue-Medford) recorded 11
saves.



The Bears (7-5, 4-1) will wrap up their regular season on Saturday.
They will travel to Cortland for a 2:30 p.m. start.
