The Game Story:
BALTIMORE, Md. Ė SUNY Potsdam freshman Justin Wilson-Kirby (Oakville, Ont./T.A. Blakelock) scored five goals and made one assist, but several other Bears struggled as the menís lacrosse team fell to UnionCollege, 19-10, at JohnsHopkinsUniversity.

Sophomore Corey Reinhart (Albany/Colonie) added two goals while senior Matt Vaverchak (Binghamton/Seton Catholic), junior Nik Bryan (Fairport/Fairport) and sophomore Dave Uzialko (Lima/Honeoye Falls-Lima) tallied one goal apiece.

Vaverchak, juniors Chris Kowalczyk (Burlington, Ont./Burlington) and George Nolan (Marcellus/Marcellus) and freshman Kyle Phelix (North Lawrence/St. Lawrence Central) contributed assists for the Bears (2-2).

Senior Brian Hondorf (Webster/Webster-Schroeder) started in net for Potsdam and stopped eight shots in 53 minutes of action. Fellow senior Tim Neer (Baldwinsville/Baldwinsville) finished up, making two saves in seven minutes.

The Bears were unable to score on man-up situations, going 0-for-6, while Union was 3-for-8. Also, the Dutchmen outshot Potsdam, 39-31, and erupted for a seven-goal fourth quarter.

Union (2-3) was led by junior Chris Collison (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull), who finished with six goals and one assist. Jon Miller (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth), also a junior, added three goals and one assist.

Dutchmen senior Rob Oram (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) made 14 saves in 52 minutes to earn the win. Freshman Rahde Franke (Harwood, Md./Mercersburg Academy) stopped two shots in relief.

The Bears will play their next game at home on Saturday against KeukaCollege. Game time is 1 p.m.
