Rit vs. Geneseo State

The Game Story:
LIVERPOOL, N.Y. -- The Rochester Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team recorded back-to-back victories with an 8-7 defeat of Geneseo in a game played at Liverpool High School outside of Syracuse, N.Y. Tuesday afternoon.

Freshman Dave Thering continued his offensive prowess with four goals and an assist in the victory including the game-winning goal with 3:38 to go in the fourth quarter giving RIT an 8-6 lead.

Geneseo's Pat Riehlman cut the lead to 8-7 with 2:24 to go and then Aaron Giffin won the next face-off to give the Knights the ball. RIT's defense held tough allowing just one shot on goal in the final 1:36 before regaining possession of the ball and then a pair of penalties on Geneseo clinched it for the Tigers who ran the final 48 seconds off the clock.

Jon Sinclair earned his second victory of the year for RIT recording 17 saves, while Geneseo's Andy Howk made 21 saves in the loss.

The Tigers also received a pair of goals apiece from Chris Copeland and Tony Green. Green also added an assist. RIT outshot Geneseo 41-29 for the game.
