The Game Story:
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Host RIT erupted for 10 second-quarter goals Saturday to break open a close game as the Tigers went on to take a 25-15 men's lacrosse victory over the Golden Flyers in a non-conference game on RIT's Turf Field.

RIT, ranked third nationally in Division III, improved to 7-2 overall, while Nazareth dropped to 6-4. The Tigers have now won the last six men's lacrosse meetings with the Golden Flyers.

Trailing 4-2 after the first quarter, Nazareth got a man-up goal from freshman Luke Wooters just 17 seconds into the second quarter before RIT strung together seven straight goals and 10 of the next 11 to take an insurmountable 14-4 advantage at halftime.

Jack Krzyston paced the Tigers with four goals and three assists, while Eddie Kiesa added four goals and two assists. Allister Warren and Kyle Aquin also scored four times each. Wooters had five goals for Nazareth to boost his team-leading total to 27. Freshman Troy Haefele also scored three times as did sophomore midfielder Drew Simoneau, who went 22 for 38 on faceoffs and collected 11 ground balls.

Junior Chris Aycock also scored twice for Nazareth; Collin Clark had one goal and one assist and Nick Loscalzo also had a goal.

RIT scored three of the first four goals of the second half to extend its lead to 17-5. The Golden Flyers had a couple of flurries of their own, scoring three times in a stretch of 2:33 in the third quarter and scoring the first four goals of the fourth quarter.

RIT had a 52-50 edge in shots overall and scored five extra-man goals. Freshman Scott Brown started in goal for Nazareth and made three saves. Senior Tim Doyle played in the second half and had six saves. Pat Johnston had 13 saves in three quarters for the Tigers.

Nazareth resumes its Empire 8 Conference schedule Friday at home against Ithaca at 5 p.m.
