Rochester, N.Y. - The Oneonta State men's lacrosse team remained unbeaten on the season with a 13-11 victory against the Rochester Institute of Technology on the artificial surface at Fauver Stadium on the campus of the University of Rochester Wednesday afternoon.

The game was moved because RIT's field was unplayable due to the rain last Saturday night.

Oneonta's Matt Puerta put the Red Dragons (3-0) on the board with a goal just 1:05 into the first quarter from Mike Massari. Puerta finished the day with two goals and three assists to lead Oneonta in scoring.

Brian Balash's unassisted goal made it 2-0 Oneonta at the 12:52 mark of the first quarter. Balash, Dan Bakke and Anthony Pisciotto each recorded three goals apiece for the Red Dragons.

Dan Tuschong and Andrew Pratt scored goals for RIT (1-2) to even the game at 2-2 after one quarter.

After the teams traded goals in the first four minutes of the second quarter, Oneonta went on a 4-0 run to close out the first half with a 7-3 lead.

RIT mounted a defensive stand in the third quarter not allowing a Red Dragons' shot until the final five minutes of the quarter. This defensive effort helped RIT claw its way back into the game closing the gap to 7-6 with 6:30 to go in the quarter. However, Oneonta scored two of the final three goals of the third to hold a 9-7 lead entering the final frame.
