The Game Story:
ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (8-6, 5-2 E8)men's lacrosse team scored the first 12 goals of the game and 19 in all, en route to a 19-3 win over Utica College (4-10, 2-5 E8) in Empire 8 action on Wednesday afternoon. It was second time this season that RIT has reached the 19-goal plateau and the win was the third straight for the Tigers.

The Tigers dominated in every offensive category, out shooting the Pioneers 38-31, won 17-of-25 face-offs and won the ground ball battle 52-36.

The led 4-0 after one quarter and broke the game open with eight goals in the second quarter, getting off to their fastest start of the season. The Tigers kept the momentum going in the second half, tallying seven goals.

Dan Rago (Geneva, NY), Kelso Davis (Freeport, ME/Deerfield Academy) and Sean Gillies paced the Tigers offense, each tallying three goals and an assist. Senior midfielder Andy Ruocco (Corning, NY/Corning East) had two goals and an assist as 14 different players tallied at least one point for RIT.

RIT's defense forced Utica into 31 turnovers led by Phil Davenport (New Market, MD/Linganore) who forced four turnovers. The senior long-stick also had a team-high eight ground balls. Jacob Brunner (Lafayette, NY) won 12-of-16 face-offs and had eight ground balls for RIT.

Brad Conlon (Ottawa, ON/Bridgton Academy) got the start in net for RIT, stopping six shots and allowing just one goal, picking up his seventh win of the season.

Kevin Rattigan (Chicago, IL/Western Reserve Academy) played the opening moments of the second half, allowing two goals and making four saves. Rob Tonnessen (Ridgefield, CT) saw action, making a save and Tyler Bigham (Danbury, CT/Trinity-Pawling) played the final 4:22 and made a save.
