The Game Story:
ROCHESTER, NY - Senior attack Dave Thering (Fairport, NY/Fairport) recorded a game-high nine points on three goals and six assists to move into third place on the all-time RIT career scoring list, as the #6 Tigers rolled to an 18-2 win over SUNY Brockport on Wednesday afternoon at the RIT Turf Field.

Thering passed Josh Molinari '04 with his 235th point, an assist on what proved to be the game-winning goal by Scott Farress (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) with 2:10 left in the opening quarter. Thering now has 242 career points.

RIT dominated in every aspect of the game, out-shooting Brockport 57-11, while winning 18-of-23 face-offs. The Tigers had 52 ground balls to just 31 for the Golden Eagles.

RIT led 4-1 after the first quarter, 9-1 at halftime and 13-2 after three quarters of play.

The Tigers, who had been converting 57 percent of their man-up advantages entering today's game, went 6-for-7 this afternoon.

Jacob Brunner (Lafayette, NY/Lafayette) and Jacob Cannan (Irondequoit, NY/Irondequoit) combined to win 18-of-23 face-offs. Brunner was 10-of-11 with six ground balls, while Cannan went 8-of-12 and grabbed four ground balls.

Defensively, Phil Davenport (Linganore, MD/Linganore), Chris Bulawa (Camillus, NY/West Genesee), Matt Bray (Parsippany, NJ/Seton Hall Prep) and Jacob Tuller (Corning, NY/Corning East) led a stout Tiger unit that allowed just 11 shots. Davenport led the Tigers with seven ground balls.

In addition to Thering's big day, Farress stepped up with seven points on four goals and three assists. Eric Pritchard (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) scored three goals and added an assist, while Andrew Ruocco (Corning, NY/Corning East) and Stephen Papa (Niskuyana, NY/Niskuyana) each racked up two goals and an assist.

Zach Bednarz (Webster, NY/Schroeder), Joe Argese (Jordan, NY/Jordan-Eldridge) and David Demuth (Jordan, NY/Jordan-Eldridge) all had a goal and an assist each, while Tim Liwosz (Pennington, NJ/Pennington) also scored for the Tigers, who have now out-scored their opponents 104-29 in six games this season.

John Foley (Guelph, ON/Our Lady of Lordes), Brad Conlon (Ottawa, ON/Bridgeton Academy) and Alex VanderEls (Fairfax, VA/W.T. Woodson) combined to make four saves.

Jordan Conrad and Brian Mucino scored for Brockport, who falls to 1-3 on the season.

The Tigers are back in action on Saturday, as they travel to face #7 SUNY Cortland in their toughest test of the season to date. Game action begins at 1 p.m. and will be aired on WYSL 1040 AM.
