Led in large part senior defender Brian Gallagher (Westfield, NJ/Westfield), the Maroon defense limited the Red Devils to just 11 shots in the second half, eight of which were stopped by Madalon.

Keating got the game^s scoring going, but Read quickly tied the game at one. After goals by Keating and Reed gave the Maroons a 3-1 lead, Dickinson^s Drew Peace scored the first of his three consecutive goals to bring the Red Devils to within one after one. Peace had a hand in three of Dickinson^s four goals in the second quarter, scoring the first two and assisting on the third, a goal from Ed Boyd.
