| Bryan Cofrin and Brody Savoie lead Western New England College past Roger Williams Men's Lacrosse 3.29.2008 BRISTOL, R.I. - Senior Bryan Cofrin (Londonderry, NH) and junior Brody Savoie (Wilbraham, MA) each scored three goals as No. 13 Western New England College posted a 13-9 victory over upset-minded Roger Williams Saturday afternoon (Mar. 29). This was the second straight win for the Golden Bears who raised their record to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC). Freshman Joe O'Keefe (Branford, CT) also had a three-point outing with a goal and two assists. Senior Travis Brown (Chapel Hill, NC) and junior Scott Kukis (Sudbury, MA) each conributed a pair of goals while senior goalie Chris Body (Newtown, CT) finished with eight saves. Brown also compiled 10 ground balls while Savoie and freshman Sean Johnston (New Hope, MA) picked-up six apiece. This was a close game with WNEC holding a slim 7-6 lead at halftime and 9-8 advantage heading into the final period. Western New England College tallied four unanswered goals in the final stanza to pull away from the Hawks. Dave Hurley led RWU (2-5, 2-1 TCCC) with three goals and an assist while goalie Bobby Hensley stopped 17 shots. |
